This is an ultra rare uniform patch insignia from World War One for the 1st Battalion of the 17th Field Artillery Regiment, part of the U. S. Army 2nd Field Artillery Brigade. The patch features a red felt "artillery shell" shaped background that measures about 3 3 4" tall by 2 1 4" across, with a sewn on white five pointed star with an Indian Head sewn into the middle. These patches are extremely rare and ones in
